Alex started his playing career during his freshman year at Hall High School as a middle. As his love of the game grew, Alex quickly realized he was going to need to play for more than one season to reach his goals as a player. He signed up to play for Husky and instantly noticed an improvement in his skill level and teamwork abilities due to the great coaching.
After high school, Alex had the opportunity to go to multiple NCAA D3 schools and a few other places. Despite his dream of playing in the NCAA, he decided that a closer school with a club volleyball team was a better fit and enrolled at CCSU.
Alex spent the next 5 years studying engineering and also playing volleyball at a much higher level than he expected playing for a club team.
During his sophomore year of college, Alex started his coaching career at Husky, where his knowledge and experience of the game grew exponentially. In his final year of playing in college, CCSU was the runner-up for the New England regional tournament, defeating volleyball powerhouses like Northeastern and UConn. His final season was capped off with a record performance at the NECVL National Tournament.
