Ryan Mintzer-Woodcock

 

Ryan is a well-known club coach.  Most recently he coached one of the most successful teams to play for Husky and was successful in helping all 13 players to get recruited to play at the collegiate level.  He was the program Co-Director of MEVBC for 10 years as well as another Connecticut travel program for 9 years prior to starting MEVBC.

 

Ryan’s expertise lies both as a coach as well a mentor to several generations of players from the Juniors programs he has been involved with since. Ryan has coached volleyball at the high school level since the winter of 2002 in CT and has led 2 different teams to 3 state championships as well as 6 straight conference tournaments and 3 conference championships. He has been named New England Coach of the Year two times for his work with high school players. 

 

In 2017, he led a team of local high school players to a third-place showing at the BJNC. In just one year following, he was able to complete the mission, coaching his 18 Boys Club to a National Championship, the first time a team from the Northeast had ever won a National Championship. He has coached over 3 dozen high school players who went on to play collegiate ball. 

Spending two years as the Assistant Coach at Quinnipiac College and two as the Head Coach of Quinnipiac University, Ryan was acknowledged as the youngest Division I Coach in the country to make the conference tournament.  He spent 3 years as an Assistant on the Sacred Heart Women’s Volleyball team and was the Associate Head Men’s Coach as well. Sacred Heart is the only Division 1 program in Connecticut for Men’s Volleyball. 

 

He has coordinated the Husky HP Program for 3 years, helping the program grow to include U12 through U18, with a total of 19 teams competing locally, regionally, and nationally.
